On with the awesome (I could use some of that). I'll be neither obscure, nor the least bit surprising with my next choice. It's Captain Kathryn Janeway of the Federation Starship Voyager, (who, oddly, seems to sit quite nicely next to Bea. I feel they'd get along).
(
Is this a ship of the Valkyries? )
Janeway is probably my second fav Trek captain (Picard beats her by a hairbreath and Kirk and Sisko share third place. Archer I haven't seen enough of to form an opinion - never got into Enterprise actually) and I loved how well written and fun she was, coupled with her 'I don't take nonsense from anyone mister!' Plus hey, I'm half-Irish and she has the Irish heritage so she scores points from me!
Agree with her having the great relationships with her crewmates - Chaokay and Tuvok are her McCoy and Spock apparently (heart vs head I mean). With Seven and the Doctor she was this mentor/teacher figure helping them learn their humanity. She got Mr Paris back on his feet, showed Mr Kim he was alright, tolerated Nelix and showed the Borg, Hirogen, Kazon and the rest of the damn Delta Quadrant whose boss(ess). All that and finding time to drink coffee, snog a Lord Byron would-be, nearly marry Q and have Da Vinci as a buddy? That is one cool lady.
Janeway. So awesome I nearly used her as my template for my Mass Effect 2 character (I ended up sticking with Susan Foreman. Its a quirk.) Pity I only drink tea, otherise we'd get on beautifully...
