Sunlight

By the time Kazuya heard the front door open, it was dawn. The sunlight was sneaking through his bedroom curtains. He turned to the colder side of his bed, looking at his door with a blank expression. Thousands of questions ran through his head. They kept him awake all night. Why was he doing here again?

Jelly began to bark. Kazuya heard him shushing his stubborn little pup. It didn’t surprise Kazuya that Jelly started to bark. The pup barely knew him unlike Ran. Much like his Ran, Kazuya had a love-hate relationship with him. Kazuya never admitted it, but he knew that everyone around him knew how he felt.

After everything settled down in the living room, distant footsteps came closer. The bedroom door creaked opened. Kazuya silently eyed the older man. He hadn’t changed at all, Kazuya noted in his mind, he still wore the usual things and looked the same. If he didn’t change, why did the air surrounding them felt different?

“I didn’t wake you, did I?”

Kazuya kept quiet. He continued to look at the older man with less and less enthusiasm. He didn’t want to deal with him now. He thought he was done dealing with him after the last time.

“Kamenashi? Are you all right?”
“You’re too late.”
A chuckle. Then, “I know. Sorry about that.”

Could he really be sorry? Kazuya already knew the answer. His broken heart sunk. He couldn’t understand why he kept coming back. All Kazuya wanted to do was sleep, but his mind wouldn’t let him.

The bed squeaked as the older one sat next to Kazuya. He breathed in the scent of the room. His body relaxed. He laid down, facing Kazuya, and smiled.

“Hi.”
“Why are you back?”
“I wanted to see you.”

Short and simple. It was the typical lie. Kazuya expected it. Most of the things that came out of him were lies.

“Why don’t you tell the truth for once?” Kazuya asked, “Why can’t you tell me the truth?”
“I missed you.”
“You’re a liar, Jin.”
“You know you don’t mean that.”

Jin moved closer to Kazuya. He inhaled Kazuya’s sweet strawberry scent. Slowly, he ran his fingers through Kazuya’s dark and soft hair. Then, he started caressing Kazuya’s cheeks. His eyes were filling up with lust. Their eyes locked.

Kazuya gulped and quickly sat up. If Jin continued, he wouldn’t be able to stop. His heart began to ache, but his mind was fighting against Jin. He heard the bed creak once more. Familiar arms wrapped around his body. A head was on his shoulder.

“You want the truth?” Jin sighed, “I was stupid. I shouldn’t have given up. I shouldn’t have let you go.”
“You’re too late.”
“I know,” Jin whispered, “But I still love you.”
“Liar.”
“I know you feel the same.”
“I hate you,” Kazuya bitterly replied.

Jin’s arms were still around Kazuya. There were still some fading rays of light inside of Kazuya. However, he could feel them going dark. He knew that Jin heard him by the way his body tensed up. Tears starting falling from Kazuya’s brown orbs.

“It was all your fault.”

Jin didn’t say anything. Kazuya swallowed hard. His heart felt heavier every second. He should push Jin away, but he didn’t have the strength. Kazuya heard a sigh coming from the other one.

“I know.”
“You’re a liar.”
“I know.”
“I can’t forgive you, Jin…..I….”

His voice died out. His mind was telling him it was the right thing to do. If it’s the right thing to do, why did it feel so wrong?

“I’m sorry, Kazuya,” Jin weakly whispered.

Kazuya could feel tears landing on his shoulder. His light grew darker. Nothing was stopping him this time. It didn’t feel good at all.

“I…I love you…but I can’t be with you again….”

Arms finally released Kazuya from his former haven. There was no turning back, Kazuya knew that. He wouldn’t stop Jin again. Their relationship was too hard. As much as they tried and tried, both of them weren’t willing to give up their place in the world. They were too stubborn for their own good.

The bed creaked for the last time. Kazuya saw Jin’s shadow leaving the bedroom. However, he knew he’ll be seeing Jin again. He knew he’ll be having the same conversion again after a few months pass by.

Kazuya sighed and brushed his tears away. All he wanted to do was sleep, but the sunlight was too bright.

A/N- >_< I know I’ve been gone for a long time. RL kept me far too busy, but now it’s slowing down.

Anyways, I found this drabble half written in one of my notebook, and decided to finish it… It’s kind of based off something else that I wrote a while back (but that akame story will probably never get posted because it’s too confusing-in my opinion, at least).

Please let me know what you think~ Comments are love!!
