Ch. 15

When Kame saw Jin at the front door, all he wanted to do was run. He just wanted to forget everything that happened that night.

“Why the hell did you leave without telling me?” Jin frowned.
“I’m sorry,” Kame mumbled, letting Jin inside, “I wasn’t feeling well…”
“That’s not what you told Ryo and Yamapi,” Jin said.
Kame sighed, “I was tired and wasn’t feeling well, Jin.”
“Did something happen?” Jin asked.
“No,” Kame lied.
Jin frowned, “Kame.”

Kame shook his head and went to the kitchen. He was about to pour himself a cup of coffee, but Jin stopped him.

“What?” Kame said, turned toward Jin.
“Something did happen and you’re not telling me,” Jin replied.
Kame bit his lips, “Fine, you want to know what?”
“Yes,” Jin said.
“I heard you,” Kame quietly said, placing the cup on the counter.
“Heard me?” Jin frowned.
“You want to get married and have kids,” Kame said, “And obviously, I can’t help you with those things….”
“Did you hear the next part when I said that I don’t care about those things anymore and that I only love you now?” Jin asked.
“No….” Kame muttered.
“Well, you should have,” Jin said.
“I’m sorry,” Kame quietly replied.
“Yeah, you better be,” Jin jokingly said.
Kame pouted at him.
“I would never hurt you,” Jin said, “Not anymore. So, please try to trust me more.”
“I feel stupid now…” Kame mumbled.
Jin chuckled, “Don’t be. I’m going to assume that it was an honest mistake, ok?”
“I really am sorry,” Kame swallowed hard.
Jin gave Kame a quick kiss, “Don’t think too much into it.”
Kame nodded.
“Now, you have a big day tomorrow, so you better go sleep,” Jin teased, “You don’t want to be killing anyone during service because you barely slept.”
“I never killed anyone during service,” Kame rolled his eyes.
“Maybe not physically,” Jin muttered under his breath.
“What?” Kame frowned.
“Nothing!” Jin smiled.

“Grandma will come pick you up today,” Kame reminded Emi as they reached her school.
“Ok,” Emi smiled.
“You’ll come with her, grandpa, and Yuya to the restaurant,” Kame said.
“Hn!” Emi nodded.
“And don’t mess around with Taguchi tonight,” Kame added.
Emi giggled, “Ok~”
“Good, now go learn something,” Kame smiled.
Emi nodded and ran inside the school.

Kame sighed and turned to Jin, who was a few steps behind them. Jin walked closer to Kame.

“Everything will be great today,” Jin said, smiling at Kame.
“I hope so,” Kame replied.
“You worked hard and long for this restaurant,” Jin mumbled, “It will work out fine-”
“Just don’t stress yourself?” Kame completed Jin’s sentence.
Jin nodded, “You got nothing to worry about.”
“You’ll be there, right?” Kame asked.
“Of course! Ryo placed a reservation for us. He, Yamapi, Yuu, and I are staying until you kick us out,” Jin grinned.
Kame chuckled, “Thanks.”

“Today’s the day!” Rina grinned.
“Yep,” Kame replied.
“You’re still nervous,” Koki frowned at him.
“I’m not!” Kame exclaimed.
“There’s nothing to worry about,” Koki told him, “everything’s going to turn out great!”
“Yeah,” Tatsuya piped in, “We’re in this together.”
Kame smiled, “Thanks.”
“Feeling better?”

They all looked at each other, confused at the new voice. Kame turned and saw Nakamaru standing in front of the kitchen doors.

“Maru!” Kame smiled.
“See? I came on the very first night!” Nakamaru smiled back.
“How are you, man?” Koki grinned.
“I’m good,” Nakamaru nodded, “but hungry.”

Then, Reio and Taguchi walked through the kitchen doors. Reio placed his phone in his pocket and looked at Kame.

“Jin messaged me that he got here and that he’s hungry,” Reio said, “You don’t want to keep him hungry. You do not want to see his angry side.”
Rina giggled, “I want to!”
Reio rolled his eyes.
“There are people starting to line up in front of the restaurant, too,” Taguchi added.
Kame took a deep breath and nodded, “All right, I guess it’s time to open.”
Taguchi grinned, “Ok.”

Taguchi left the kitchen as Kame turned towards his friends and staff.

“Let’s make it a great night for all of us!” Kame smiled.

“This place is packed,” Yuu said, looking around.
“That’s a good thing, Yuu,” Jin replied.
“I know it’s a good thing, Jin,” Yuu rolled his eyes.
“Kame has been working on this place for a long time,” Ryo said, “It’s good that there are a lot of people.”
“I can’t wait to try the food here,” Yamapi smiled.

Jin started to look around. There were many people around them, but he was sure Kame could handle it. Jin smiled, turning to his side. He saw Emi and Kame’s family sitting a few tables away from them.

“Are you going to go over there?”

Jin’s train of thought broke and he turned back to his friends. Ryo looked at him, waiting for an answer.

“What?” Jin frowned.
“Are you going to go over to Kame’s family?” Ryo asked.
“No…” Jin replied, “It’s their dinner, I don’t want to interrupt anything.”
“You’re not scared, are you?” Yamapi teased.
“I’m not!” Jin glared at Yamapi, his cheeks faintly going red.
“What are you scared of?” Yuu asked.
“I’m not scared of anything!” Jin exclaimed.
“Jin!”

Jin turned around and saw Emi standing in front of him, smiling. Jin nervously smiled back.

“You’re here!” Emi said.
“Why wouldn’t I be?” Jin asked.
“But you didn’t come say hi,” Emi pouted.
“Err….” Jin swallowed hard, “I was just about to….”
“Oh!” Emi smiled again.

Emi took Jin’s hands and tried to pull him up.

“Come meet grandma and grandpa,” Emi smiled.
“Ehh?” Jin looked at Emi.
“Come on!” Emi grinned.

Jin gulped and stood up. Then, Emi led him to her table. Kame’s parents and brother stared at Jin, a bit confused.

“Emi, what’s going on?” Kame’s mom spoke first.
Emi smiled, “This is Jin-sensei, grandma.”
“I’m Akanishi Jin,” Jin anxiously introduced himself.
“Ah! I remember Kazu-nii talking about you at the wedding,” Kame’s brother said.
Jin faintly blushed, “Oh.”
“Right, Kazuya did mention you a few times,” Kame’s dad added.
Jin smiled, “Really?”
“It’s nice to finally meet you, Akanishi-kun,” Kame’s mom smiled.
“Yeah, it’s great to meet you all too,” Jin replied.

Just then, their food came. Emi sat next to Kame’s mom and picked up her fork.

“Well, I’ll let you eat,” Jin said.
“I hope we’ll see you again soon, Akanishi-kun,” Kame’s mom smiled at him.
Jin nodded, “I hope so too.”

Jin smiled at them again and then returned to his table. Ryo, Yamapi, and Yuu were all smiling at him.

“What?” Jin asked, getting annoyed at the way his friends were looking at him.
“How were the in-laws?” Yuu teased.
“Shut up, Yuu!” Jin hissed.
“Aww come on, they seemed to like you,” Ryo said.
“Yeah, don’t be embarrassed,” Yamapi smiled.
“They were nice,” Jin said.
“That’s good,” Ryo replied.
“Yeah,” Jin smiled towards the direction of Kame’s family.
