Book reviews

Tuck Everlasting by Natalie Babbitt
This was a re-read. I read this one a long time ago, maybe over fifteen years ago so my memories were cloudy and the movie kind of rewrote what I did remember. This book sadly didn't hold up over time. I was kinda really bored during the whole thing. It lacked something that I can't quite make out. I don't know, it felt like nothing happened. Boring.

All Star Superman Vol.1 by Grant Morrison and Frank Quietly
My first trade ever! Loved it for the most part. Lex's part felt like it was never going to end but besides that it was pretty awesome, especially Super!Lois. I need to get vol.2 now.

Forbidden by Tabitha Suzuma
I read a lot of reviews for this book, some of each had the balls to label this book as "powerful" which is just beyond ridiculous in my opinion. The book read like fanfiction, mediocre fanfiction at that. It was so cliched and stupid, I don't know why I forced myself to finish it. Go read any incest fic and you'll find the same dialog that was found in this book, I was cringing all over the place. I mean really. She was clearly trying to be deep with this thing and it was just laughable. The only parts I'll give her any credit on were the ones dealing with social phobia, as a person who has this problem I thought she wrote it really well and got down just how it feels. Had she wrote a book on that subject and not this melodramatic incest child abuse crap she might have had something powerful.

The Waters and the Wild by Francesca Lia Block
I loved this book, not really surprising I love all of her books. This one was very interesting, I've never read anything about changelings before.

I'm currently reading Water For Elephants. This book has been on and off my to read list for years, but after watching the movie trailer I finally decided to give it a go. Not really loving it at the moment. It's boring. Oh well I need to finish it. Yeah I think I've gotten off to a good start this year with reading, hopefully I'll pick more good-ins instead of boringness.
