Lost Overture

VGL Update: Tickets go on sale today! I'd like to be able to order tickets as soon as possible, so would it be okay if everyone interested in going could give me a definite yes/no by this Saturday? We want to get some good seats before they're all taken.
-> Current List: Jessica, Yolanda, Yvonne, Kay, me

And now... I shall finally explain my choice of names. Brace yourself - it's going to be long-winded and full of odd analysis.

First off, the literal interpretation:
Lost - having gone astray or missed the way; bewildered as to place, direction, etc.
This basically describes the direction in my life - nonexistent. I know it's normal for people my age to be undecided on a future path, but even so, I seem to be particularly indecisive. Part of the reason why I took so many AP courses this year was because I had no idea what I was planning on doing in the future. Might as well do it all just to be sure I'll have an opportunity to expand on it later, right? And that leads me to the next part...

Overture - an orchestral composition forming the prelude or introduction to an opera, oratorio, etc.
The Overture is the piece in a larger work that introduces all of the main themes that will follow. The themes are not to be played musically to the extent that they will be later, because the purpose of the Overture is to - and only to - give the audience a taste of what is yet to come. Like the Overture, I have many "themes"; but also like the Overture, I do none of them well. I believe I have mentioned this before - I am like a Jack of all trades, but Master of none.

Now for something a little deeper:
The Overture is an essential part of any musical, opera, etc., because, like I mentioned before, it introduces all the main themes that will be used. Without the Overture, there is nothing holding the rest of the music together. Therefore, the Overture cannot be "lost", because without it there can be no rest of the show.

Put together, "Lost Overture" reflects the inconsistencies that exist in my life. I'm a walking contradiction. My favorite genre of video games is RPGs, but I'm a Nintendo fan as opposed to a Sony fan. I'm a pacifist, but if it came down to it, I'd rather fight physically than verbally. My lowest grades are in the subjects I enjoy most (Physics and APUSH), while my highest grade, math, (though it probably wont be the highest after DeRuiter grades the Flash-Card Quiz) is in the subject I have no real interest in. I claim to have strong opinions, but when I take political spectrum quizzes, I always end up right in the middle. I'm a slow cross-country runner. Need I say more? I know "opposites attract", but this is ridiculous.

Other than the points listed above, I decided on "Lost Overture" because I thought it would be a cool name, not only for this LJ, but maybe for a song title as well. And I decided I needed a theme for the LJ - why not music? That's all... by no means am I emo. -_-

*I am now taking requests for music arrangement - Piano/string instruments only. You must provide an mp3 file of the original piece.
