I *heart* goats.
They are soooo cute and have such interesting personalities. All of them except those crazy petting zoo goats. But can you blame them? I'd be crazy too if I had to put up with people and little kids all day. Lol.
Anyway... back to topic. I am so getting goats some day. I just have to figure out what breed is my favorite. My two favorite goats at KU Med will probably be the kind I get. They were a good size, very friendly without being pushy, and very adorable. And smart. Veerrry smart. I'll have to be very careful about fencing when I finally get my own. Although our goats are indoors, one of them has figured out how to open the feed room door. And Lucky (one of my two babies) learned a trick before he had to go to the big pasture in the sky. :S He would jump up and nibble my chin if I asked him to give me kisses. AWW. (Hey, that's no more disgusting than getting kisses from your dog... and at least goats don't lick their butts!)
Today I got to help catch and hold the mama goats while Dr. Culley attempted to ultrasound them. (They were supposed to have their kids a month ago...) But the ultrasound was ancient and a piece of crap so it didn't work. However, he was able to palpate them and discovered that one of the mamas is very far along, another is close, and the other three aren't very far along at all. Which is all wrong according to what the people at the place they got the goats from told them, apparently. Apparently, they were all supposed to give birth Septemberish. Yah, only one of them did that. And three of them still are only about three months along. ACK!
They were good mamas though. I can't wait to see the babies! Okay, Jason is telling me it's my turn to play games, so I'm off for now! Ta ta!
