so i went to the yellowcard show tonight, and to put it simply, it was an amazing show. the first band to play i'd never heard of till this show and they're called over it. they were probably unappreciated by most of the crowd but i thought they were pretty good. the only problem i had with em is that they had three guitarists, but otherwise they weren't bad and got a pretty good sound. the next band to play was mae, and they were really good. i'd only heard a little bit of their stuff before tonight but they sounded SO good and i really liked em. their keyboard player kicked ass, both guitarists were awesome, the bassist was really good, and the drummer had monkey arms goin everywhere, which always kicks ass. finally when they were done, it was yellowcard's turn. let me just say that they put on an amazing show. they opened with one of their new songs called "rough landing, holly" and from the minute they started i knew it was gonna be good. the crowd was so into it and the band was too. the violin player was awesome, running and jumping around everywhere cuz he had a wireless system (as well as everyone else), not to mention he's actually a pretty good musician and player too. the lead guy, ryan, i think has a really good voice, even live. he hits all his notes and is very energetic, and couldn't be more thankful for the fans' support over the years. the bassist was good and their new guitarist was too. the drummer is a badass. not only is he black, but he has dreads and the CRAZIEST drumset, and he tears it up too. anyways they had an amazing sound, tons of awesome lighting effects and shit, lots of energy and fun (great circle pit at one point too). overall it was an amazing show with each element of it being good and exciting, and you couldn't've asked for much more. what a night.
