Two Decades

As of yesterday, I'm 20 years old. Most things are expected to die by 20; electronics, automobiles, etc. But I was really glad that a lot of people wished me a happy birthday, it was nice despite my initial hope that people would let it pass, I decided that was a bad idea, so I'm glad people did.

Also yesterday was my debut performance at Geneseo in "Reverse Transcription" by Tony Kushner, part of a series of ten-minute plays put on back to back. The scene changes went smoothly, and I got a bit nervous when I noticed that the theatre, albeit small, was packed to capacity, which is to say people had to sit along the walls so we had audience on three sides of us. (For those who are confused, the "Black Box" theatre is literally a box, that is usually painted black in which it is possible to have audience all around.) We had to dress for a December midnight, and this made it extremely hot in the room, with the lights and the body heat of the audience. I'm not bragging, but I absolutely nailed my part- my final monologue was excellent, overall my best performance. I guess it was a good night to get that one outh there.

My younger brother Steven is up for siblings weekend, and we've been having a lot of fun, though at one point I had to direct him home by telephone as he managed to get lost haha. Today we're going to see Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, attend the improv comedy troupe's latest performance, and maybe also see Chronicles of Narnia.

This has been an excellent weekend. Times like these are the ones that remind me to get over myself when I get depressed. Excellent
