Tea and a chat anyone?

Hi everyone!  I've missed hanging around these parts, but it's been a busy and good few weeks since I've last posted.  I've been taking a class at my local community college about what I want to do when I grow up!  Well okay, not really.  It's more about discovering what is the most meaningful way to live my life at this point.  Since my son is ( Read more... )

I'm not surprised how similar our visions are, Melodye! And you, being the beautiful person that you are, remind me of how just being an authentic person is really the deepest service for the world.

And here's to finishing Can I Get a Witness and The Quince Tree! :)

A number of years ago I did The Artist's Way by Julia Cameron. It worked for me like that class is working for you. I did think about the things I loved to do, was good at, wanted to try, etc. And I think it helped me to be more committed to my writing. So, my vision is to keep working at the best writing I can do, and to be open to other things that come along. That means keeping up with family and friends, working with young children, doing yoga, exploring my environment, and in general trying to live a richer, less automatic kind of life.
Thanks for the post. It's good to be reminded that other people are on the same journey.

Barbara, thanks for sharing your vision here with me. I think you really hit it on the head when you mentioned living a less automatic kind of life. I'm glad we remind each other to keep in touch with our deeper, more vital lives.

I love your vision, and am certain you are on your way to fulfilling it.

I will keep thinking about your wonderful question: and try to let you know when I have an answer. Part of it centers around doing more teaching: something I feel good at and feels right at this stage in my life. It's so great to be around people who want to learn.

Just from the way you talk about your students, I know you're a wonderful teacher, Jeannine. And I'd love it if you came back to talk more about your vision.

A lovely vision, Lorraine. I've been thinking about this as I've been consumed with serving my family and wondering how and if it serves me, and the rest of the world. No answers yet. I miss friends and doing something visual (no words!). I often find myself at our local food co-op feeling blessed that the NW has such wonderful food. I don't thing there's anything better than a plain old baked honeycrisp apple. Love you. Miss you.

Oh Laurie, I would love to sit down with you over a cuppa tea and baked honeycrisp apple and talk about life, writing, and books. I miss you too. xo

That IS a lovely vision, Lorraine. Thanks for sharing it with us.

My life has been changing now that Sweetpea's in school (and loving it). While she and my family are still my priority, everything else seems to be shifting. Mostly in necessary ways, many of them good ones. But I'm still not quite certain where these new paths are leading. Very glad to have your friendship and writing to keep me company as I go, though.

I'm so glad to hear that Sweetpea is loving school. It makes shifting toward new paths a little easier, doesn't it? I hope you confide in us if you need cheering on and support--I so appreciate being able to share our journeys, wherever they bring us!
