Gender Bending
I am amused anew today at how frequently I bend my gender role.
Yesterday I was giving extensive advice to a friend on dying her hair. This advice included the best tools to use and pitfalls to avoid if you're a first time dyer of hair.
Today I got to explain to a kitchen full of women (all 5-15 years older than me) that it was perfect safe to cook mayonnaise in a toaster over. That, in fact, it was safer to do that then let it sit out for several hours on a sandwich the way one of them had done.
I really should be used to knowing more about traditionally "feminine" skills than the women around me, but it always sort of comes as a surprise and source of amusement.
