Ok here's what I can do with 3.5 months left to train:
1. Run 4 consecutive miles on the treadmill, and run/walk almost 5 miles on uneven terrain.
2. Bike 15 miles of flat terrain.
3. Swim 18 laps if I alternate a kickboard lap in every few laps.
I have to improve my swim to include no kickboard laps at all, and improve my biking to include hills. And so far, I have not yet done any of these things doubled up yet. Also, I really need to overtrain on everything because the training never has you doing more than two things consecutively, so it's the over-preparedness (plus the adrenaline) that helps you get through all three events on race day.
But I'm proud of myself - I went from swimming 6 laps to swimming 18 laps in 5 training sessions. And Holly and I did an open water swim in our local lagoon and there was no freakage (I didn't think there would be, I'm comfortable in the water, but you never know once you can't see the bottom - Creature of the Black Lagoon flashbacks and all.)
