Back from Hawaii

Our news.

Hawaii was absolutely wonderful. Paradise on earth. All other vacations for the rest of our lives may pale by comparison. Then there was the rapid return to normal gravity when we got home, what with three kids, two cats, two jobs and a house that collects dust at lightspeed.

But back to the story.

On the first full day of the trip, we went on a cruise of the Napali Coast. Breathtaking, beautiful, we saw dolphins and a whale. My company president was there along with some of the other executive staff. And Michael got violently seasick. Poor guy. He did manage to pull his head up long enough to see the whale though, and he recovered within an hour or so of us getting off the boat.

And then that night after dinner he asked, "Would you want to take a walk with me tomorrow at sunrise?" And I said, "Sure."

Then later thought, hmmm...that was awfully specific.

So I was a little suspicious.

But I didn't think he had a ring, I didn't know when he would have had time to buy one.

But he did, and proposed at sunrise on the beach in Kaua'i, saying, "I wanted to do this at sunrise, because when you came into my life it was like a new day starting. And I want to have those days for the rest of my life. Will you marry me?"

And I said yes.
