We are renovating the kitchen and the laundry area. In order to install the new flooring, everything needs to be cleared out. I successfully disconnected the dryer and the washing machine, but the supply hoses continued to drip even after I tightened the shut-off valves. Score: 3 dish towels and one bucket.
No matter how hard I turn, I can't disconnect the water line from the refrigerator (which is now completely blocking one door). Same with the dishwasher.
I did manage to remove the dishwasher drain line from underneath the sink where it's connected to the disposer. However, in a completely "D'oh!" moment, I ran water in the sink on the disposer side. Score: 1 dish towel, 3 bath towels and wet socks from where it spilled out of the cabinet on to the floor.
AARGH! At least I removed some light fixtures without electrocuting myself!
