Odds and Ends
I haven't posted in a while so - an update.
After much procrastination and writer's block, my Helga Hufflepuff story for femgenficathon is finally finished.
Last week, I finally got to visit my sister and her new baby. Caleb was born at 12:34 AM on July 21, roughly the time I got home from the bookstore with my copy of Deathly Hallows. I'd say he's a cutie even if I weren't his aunt. Dad's visit overlapped with mine, so I got to see him go gaga over his grandson.

After 14 years with The Company, my last day is scheduled for Oct 31. I've known for nearly 2 years that this lay-off was coming, so I'm just looking forward to a couple of months off before I start job-hunting. I'll probably try to stay in the same industry, but I know that nearly every company needs accountants. Should I take sister-in-law's advice and wear a Halloween costume to my exit interview? :)
I still have not heard from the "Jeopardy" folks, but I guess I'm on on the list until next May. In my daydreams, I'm able to put "3-day champion" on my resume (once I get around to writing it).
I finally got my invitation to ravely.com and have been posting pictures of all my knitting projects. I'm "Lorelei132" there.
