Single Father Episode 2

Okay so I just finished watching it and my first reaction at the end was OMG OMG OMG OMG OH NO OMG! Then came the preview and there were more OMG OMG OMG OMG's!!! So um yeah. Posting required... Now I'll back up a bit and hopefully be more coherent...

First of all can I just say how great this show is? It's well written, well acted and well put together. And I'm not just saying that because I'm biased (though I fully admit my adoration for all things DT).

That being said here are my thoughts on this episode, in no particular order:

- I was in tears almost from the get go with the rehash of the bathroom scene. There's something about DT falling to pieces that gets me EVERY time.

-The kiss is STILL hot.

- I have some major issues with the fact that Sarah is in a relationship with someone else and yet I can't help totally liking Sarah and David together. I'm rooting for them and yet I'm not - it's a strange situation to be in as a viewer. I am absolutely against cheating. But I admit they have chemistry.

- The Lucy's father storyline is intriguing to me, particularly since I grew up not knowing my own father and didn't meet him or my sisters until I was 18. Interesting that he knew her as "Rebecca" though. I'm thinking it was a way for Rita to protect Lucy?

- I have really missed David's acting. It's phenomenal how much emotion he can convey just with simple gestures and facial expressions. Not to mention his eyes --- All throughout the scene with Lucy's dad he was just SO expressive.

- I'm glad they were more specific this week about David's relationship to Tanya. I was so confused last week when she called him "dad" and yet it didn't seem to be explained at all. I kept thinking I was hearing things.

- I totally howled when Sarah told the jerky dad off in Punjabi. Man, I wish I could do that with some of the parents I have to deal with!

- I'm not very fond of David's Sister-in-Law and the way she was so accusatory to him about Lucy and then went behind his back to get the kids cell phones. I can see both sides of that issue but I don't think it was really her place. Also, I'm really annoyed at the way she handled things when Ewan hurt himself. I realize he wasn't actually hurt (at that point), but as I was watching it, I really thought he was. At the very least she should have verified whether or not he was actually injured.

- The scene where Ewan hurt himself with the hammer totally made me cringe and it also made me feel for the kids. The cry for attention was so obvious. They just want their father and he's too preoccupied to be accessible to them when the need them - it's hard to watch

-SHIRTLESS DAVID!!! I admit I had a bit of a fangasm over that.... (first OMG moment) and then cringed when Evie walked in on them. Whoops... (Second OMG moment).

- the preview... in particular the bit where David said something about the other 3 children possibly being this other guy's too... OMG if that's the case, OMG poor David. What an awful thing to discover. I'm really hoping I misinterpreted that.

- looks like things are going to get rather messy next week. Sarah and David are in way over their heads. I fear this is going to end very badly for all involved.
