While George is evil, I don't agree he's more evil than Regina. She can be just as duplicitous. Look how she conned the Genie and Jefferson and Hansel and Gretel. And all the rape, sending children to be murdered and eaten, cursing multiple worlds, and so on. They're both evil ( ... )

maybe Belle was referring to someone else in that rehabilitation comment? (at the very least, we know she convinced Grumpy to give love a try)

>This is why I don't buy her redemption, folks.
*shrugs* She never said she wanted absolution for past actions - she wanted to redeem herself with Henry.

the fairy-nuns don't bother me...not as much as the question of how a (Vicar? Bishop? Pope?) was able to marry Snow White and Charming in FTL in 1.01.

Hmm maybe. I think it mostly referred to Gold/Rumpel though. She clearly thinks she's changed him. How true that is remains to be seen.

*shrugs* She never said she wanted absolution for past actions - she wanted to redeem herself with Henry. Agreed. I don't think she's going to like, suddenly like Snow or something, but I think she'll play nice at least for a while for Henry's sake.

not as much as the question of how a (Vicar? Bishop? Pope?) was able to marry Snow White and Charming in FTL in 1.01. *shrug* I don't think that's really a question at all. They obviously had some kind of clergy/church system in FTL. They need someone to marry people so they can have their happy endings.

a friend of mine said something that may be analogous to the Belle&Rumplestiltskin bit: that even if Joseph Stalin had some kind of Road To Damascus moment and became a nicer person, it would be those close to him who see the change - to everyone else, he'd still just be Stalin, unchanged.

does that make sense?

>I don't think she's going to like, suddenly like Snow or something,
same here. Regina might be willing to bury the proverbial hatchet, for Henry's sake, but that's about it. (particularly where Snow's concerned)

>They obviously had some kind of clergy/church system in FTL. They need someone to marry people so they can have their happy endings.
makes sense.
(though with how often people onscreen refer to a multitude of gods, its odd that we'd be seeing Christian priestly regalia - except that that's probably easiest for most of hte audience to identify)

and its not like there is a paucity of folklore and folktales regarding priests (the Irish and the Amish, for example, both have a rich treasury of tales about priests)

I suspect they're trying to turn Henry into Orpheus.

I have a feeling King George was framed -- not sure if he was party to the goings-on or not.
(think about it - *why* would he have held onto the red cloak for 28 years?)

though it doesn't bode well for Granny or Charming - they can't tell the difference between a wolf's attack and an axe?

>If Mulan has some ideas about Cora, why wasn't Aurora involved in the discussion?
Because Aurora rarely sleeps, so its a good idea to let her sleep when she can?

>and when Red told Snow how much she appreciated being accepted for both parts of herself.
this episode might've been the first time Snow was glad Red can turn into a big wolf...and we never got to hear her say so.
(given that Red was always wearing the cloak when around her, its rather strange to hear anyone say Snow liked both sides of Red)

I'm unfamiliar with the story of Orpheus so I don't know enough to make that guess. I should look it up ( ... )

Orpheus ventured into the Underworld to recover his loved one, and eventually was given permission to bring his loved one back to the land of the living - on the condition that he walk ahead of her, and if Orpheus turned around at any time on the walk back to the land of the living, she would be thrown back in the Underworld.

...everything was going good until Orpheus was almost at the surface. after that, no amount of trips back to the Underworld could help him.

>I'm pretty sure King George did it
Oh I don't doubt that King George was a party to it all - I just think he's guilty of all of it except the murders themselves.
(I think in legal terms, the phrase is "party to/conspiracy to murder")

>I think he probably went looking for it once the curse was broken and found it before Red did
question is, who had the cloak? (if Regina, I doubt she'd risk David's ire and potentially alienating Henry again. Gold? someone we've not yet met?)

>Snow said herself that she accepted both sides.I don't know; I know she said it, but I take ( ... )

Now there's an interesting question - who would be doing the actual murder in this case? George did ride out with his soldiers, we saw that, so he's no weakling. But if someone else did the chopping in half (and moving of parts), I'd think it'd be a strongish person. I'd guess they killed Billy quickly and only later chopped him up, or else they'd need more killers. Unless magic was used, of course, but then there'd be no need for an ax at all.

Yeah, letting Aurora sleep makes the most sense.

Both those options for Cora sound plausible to me. Will be interesting to see where it goes from there.

This episode was SO great!
