Muddy Buddy 2008

ajmeow and I did Muddy Buddy San Jose this past weekend!! We were team Thunder Bluff Mud Wrestling (props to you if you get our reference haha) and we finished 45th in our wave, which is pretty  much dead in the middle. Considering my training this year was about 20 min. of slight offroad biking just to make sure I could stay upright, I think we did pretty well! I will definitely consider doing this again next year and shooting for a better time :) Much thanks to Marcus and Judy for being our race assistants!

Yes, yes, we did decorate our bike with cow-spotted cloth and garlands of blue flowers. AJ's man sure did feel manly driving up the mountain with that thing on his car.

Muddy Buddy is basically a relay race for two partners. One starts off at the line biking, the other one running. About a mile or so in, the biker gets to a checkpoint (which consists of a mini obstacle course, such as a balance beam, a net ladder, a mini rock wall, etc) drops the bike, and starts running. The runner runs to that same point, picks up the bike, and starts biking. The switch happens three times, the partners meet up at the last checkpoint, and crawl through a mud pit to the finish line!

The more muddy piictures will be up in Flickr soon. This is more a reminder to myself that I now am behind on not only a MuddyBuddy photo dump, but the Japan one too...omg..... X_X
