I miss it so much now and want to go back. In fact, I'd probably enjoy living there for a little bit. Here's hoping SixApart sends Alan to Japan at some point (they do have a Tokyo office for one of their products!)
I think the best things about Japan were the food, the fashion, and the people. Oh, and the fact that it is anime/games/Squeenix/nerdery ground ZERO. The people is a double-edged thing - they are extremely polite and adhere very much to tradition. At the same time, it seems there are many repressed society issues such as the amount of perversion and problems that arise from that. I also realize that I only visited Tokyo, and trying to generalize all of Japan from just Tokyo is like getting an imrpession of the USA from San Francisco. :) So I'll just leave it at....I'd TOTALLY bum around in Tokyo again. <3
