EXO on Park Jin Young's Party People, aired October 1, 2017
A week ago, EXO made an appearance on JYP's amazing show (so far, I'm loving the concept and the stages the artists have performed. This and the Yoo Yeon Seok guesting are personal favorites). I felt very emotional after watching, I don't even know why. This wasn't their best guesting but I can say that I love them here. JYP could've given them a much better concept for this guesting, than the "boyfriends" one but not really complaining! ;D I love how Kyungsoo was just brutally honest, about his thoughts on being an idol. Not realy seeing himself fit for it it many ways, and I'd give it to him that he laid it out on the table. Most idols would probably answer that it's something that they've always envisioned in doing thus can't find themselves doing anything else. My Mom and I discussed this sometime ago, that if someone would probably leave, less interested in being an idol, it would be Kyungsoo. He is passionate with what he is doing but the flame is not as strong as others, she says. Anyway, it also seems that non-fans see KSoo as someone detached, what with his resting I-take-no-shit face and seeming disinterest with what EXO does, (these are of reference to the things I see often when people shit on EXO. From Omona people, AKP people to OH haters) but he's more than that.

Kyungsoo, as we all fans know, is a warm person. He takes good care of the members and keeps the mess we call Byun Baekhyun in check! That already says a lot. I think he conveyed himself well through the show. He put himself vulnerable to the fans and the viewers. He may say that he is not good with words, but I think he thinks is what he says isn't something that fans would like, he's afraid of upsetting them with his blunt tongue. But that to be honest shouldn't be a problem because he is just being honest and fans should appreciate honesty, not well conceived lies.

He even had to defend himself from the fans, and that's something that he's not supposed to do. I know that fans shouldn't bend to what idols would say, but they also have to respect their confidence. It's Kyungsoo's opinion, deal with it. What you can do is make him realize that this path he chose is worth it. That this is worth living for in the long run.
Something I'm also off with, while watching the show, was the fans reaction to EXO dating. (Uhh, what's new? /Insert ealy 2014 and 2015 backlash/)

Everybody just looked so awkward. Lol. JYP was making a joke out of the fans reaction but really, it's something unamusing. Idols do owe fans their fame and the recognition they receive. Fans nowadays are very competitive, but not more than how H.O.T and Sechskies fans were though. Each chart that pops up in a minute, they all make sure to vote. And people go as far as guilt tripping fans who are unable to vote and stream.. Tbh, it should not be the case. You vote and stream on your own will. I know we all want the best for the boys but if an award is for them, then they will get it. Everyone is just so pressed about digital awards, and I hate Melon and Soribada for starting that shit. Stream counts shouldn't be a basis for an award, jfc. It's something manipulated. Physical and digitals should place more importance than anything. Anyway, I do stream over YT but I do not stream through Melon because I have no stable internet connection and I only get to go online at work. I vote in my free time but I do not invest 24/7 of my time doing that. I have a life too, yknow. During The War promotions, my Twitter feed was just so toxic, what with people forcing other fans to vote. Labeling them as "lazy", and "not deserving of oppa" just beacuse they are unable to. I recenlty saw one post saying "EXO's working hard for their comeback, just for it to be perfect for their fans. Why can't you spare even 5 minutes of your time?" Yo bitch. It's EXO's job to train, to perform, to package themselves. It's not only for the fans, but also for them as artists. I understand fans buy their merch, and eat up shit that they do, but at the end of the day, THEY HAVE AN EMPLOYER. They get a salary whether or not you stream the shit out of Power and Kokobop. I understand that we all should take part in making daesang happen, through mass voting, but no on has to feel bad doing it. A fan should be happy with what she does for her idols....except stalking and hating them when tehy date lol.
Going back to them dating, it feels like they're just holding back whatever remarks they have at mind. Everyone of them has probably got a say in it, especially 2 of the members publicly announced their relationship. I feel bad for Baekhyun and Jongin for the hate they got, and also for the other members who want to date but is afraid of the backlash it would bring them. We all want the boys to be happy. And part of the happiness is being in love. Even us, as regular humans, want love and want to be loved. They're not getting older, they would eventually marry. The fans need to accept that they have their personal life to. It is not forever that they would perfrom together, brushing elbows with their brothers. They'd probably be in it for 5 more years, but again, they'd eventually want to settle down. Dating rumors should not affect anyone. You deserve to hurt, but only for a while. No fan should be entitled to approve the girl they're in a relationship with. It is why I think fans get mad, because of entitlement. We don't own the boys. Shippers should also accept that the ship would eventually sink, or remain docked in a forgotten bay. There should be recognition, that the boys have the right to date and eventually get married without anyone shitting on them. There also should be accpetance, that you do not own them nor should they be stuck in a ship created by fans. I am a huge shipper myself, starting way back in YunJae to KrisHo Chanbaek, KaiSoo and HunHan. But I do not cage them into something they're not in real life. Fiction is fiction, it is a form of a different reality.
I would be a big fat liar if I said that them being in a relationship does not affect me. It does, to be honest. I'm the happiest person on Earth when dating rumors mill around the hill of TVXQ, Arashi and EXO. Lol. Cases in point: Hani/Junsu mess, Jaejoong/Jessica rumor in '08, Taeyeon?everybody-in-SM shitty rumor, Aiba/Asami, NIno/Nozomi Sasaki. I don't even like Jaejoong being paired up with another male artist/celebrity! Lol. I cannot say I'm a delulu fan because, lol, I'm not even halfway their level of crazy! I'm just salty you guys. lol. Pardon my saltiness. Hahaha!. I may react this way but I accept the fact that my idols have a life beyond the stage. That they also deserve someone who would love them unconditionally, who would take care of them. And I also accept that I won't be it, EVER. I do admit I get upset (a petty part of me which I hate the most) at first, but I accept it and feel happy for them. I pray for their happiness and for their relationship to last and that everyone not shit on them for it. Especially during the KaiStal issue. I was truly, truly disapointed with Kim Jongin that time. I doubted the rumors of him breaking his ankle because of a date, but I can't help but piece together stuff I have read (not from AKP or Koreaboo ofc. I dont trust that shit). He performed in Manila sitting down on a chair. While I felt bad for him because he was itching to perform, I also got upset over the fact that he had to get himself injured just because of a ski date. THIS IS ME BEING PETTY AND I'M SORRY FOR IT LOL I GOT OVER THIS AND I AM PERFECTLY FINE NOW JSYK HAHAHA! But still, that didn't last because who am I in Kim Jongin and Jung Soojung's life to get mad? I actually am a firm believer that they're still together. They're the perfect KPop couple in terms of visuals. I hope they get married and have kids to be honest. This is huge girl, coming from a KaiSoo shipper. Lol.
Yesterday,
this announcement was made. I was on my way home from a party when I saw my twitter feed blowing up. Half of the people were congratulating him, and half of the people were rt-ing tweets saying that shippers shouldn't leave stupid comments on Han's and Sehun's IG. Lol! I wasn torn between laughing and cringeing tbh. This may have hurt my shipper's heart a bit but I am very happy for Lu Han and I am so proud of how he announced his relationship. Kudos to him of not being apologetic at all because shit, you don't owe your fans your whole fucking life. They also look very sweet. I hope the other boys of EXO find their own happiness too, and doesn't feel compelled to hide whomever makes them happy.
P.S
I always say that when it's Jaejoong's turn to get married, I would not be myself probably for a long time. I would cry from when the sun is up 'til the moon shows itself. It would definitely be my biggest heartbreak.
If Arashi and TVXQ's marriages would break my heart, Jaejoong's would crack my soul. Hahaha!
But again, I wish nothing for my boys to be happy. I really can't wait for Arashi to be free from the wedding ban of JE. XD
