#022 Art has a strong odor!
Every human being, even Jesus and Buddha were motivated by self-interest. Human beings can never get rid of their egos. You can maybe let it go for short periods of time, but, never destroy it (unless you are putting a bullet in your head.) You need your ego to survive anyway why would you want to get rid of it? What benefit do you think you would gain from losing it. Do you want to be a selfless wimp?
There is no sin in being motivated by self-interest. Every time you wipe your ass you are motivated by self interest, every time you breath, eat, sleep, bathe and skim the smegma out from under your finger nails you are motivated by self interest, ego pride etc.
I once had a schizoid client with delusions who got close to having no-ego. He would soil himself, forget to eat, stop responding to his name or not recognize it at all when he was called by it. Only the seriously mentally ill can have no-ego.
Why are their so many pretentious artists who think there art is more important then people or even themselves? Art is important because of people and what it can do for them. Every artist is motivated by self-interest. Why do some artists think there fecal matter has no odor?
The most important art is the art you do yourself. Galleries are where dead art goes to die.
