I think I've slipped into a Zen state regarding my life--watching things unfold, making subtle adjustments, not letting crap get to me...well, maybe. Still feeling good.
But, since I haven't done it in a few weeks, a song--a Muddy Waters tune covered by the Graham Bond Organisation. A highly underrated band. All of the influential keyboardists coming out of Britain in the 1960s cite Graham Bond as a major influence. Graham's raspy voice didn't go over well in 1965, but you only have to fast forward to 1970 to see an equally raspy-voiced Rod Stewart getting acclaim. Jack Bruce on bass, Ginger Baker on drums, and Dick Heckstall-Smith on saxophone (a very underrated player). Usually, only funk makes me dance in my chair. GBO at least makes me bop back and forth.
Got My Mojo Working Goin' to Louisiana
Gonna get me a mojo hand
Gonna go to Louisiana
Gonna get me a mojo hand
Gonna make all you chicks
Give me a glad big hand
Gonna go to the gypsy, baby
Give me some advice
Gonna go to the gypsy, baby
Give me some good advice
Gonna tell all you chicks
Gotta whole load of tricks here on ice
Got my mojo working
(Got my mojo working)
Got my mojo working
(Got my mojo working)
Woo-hoo, yeah boogie
(Got my mojo working)
Got my mojo working
(Got my mojo working)
Got my mojo working
But it just won't work on you
(Yeah, come on now...)
(Alright, here we go...)
I got my mojo working
(Got my mojo working)
Ooo...mojo working
(Got my mojo working)
I got my mojo working
(Got my mojo working)
Woo-hoo, yeah boogie
(Got my mojo working)
Got my mojo working
But it just won't work on you
(Alright, one more time...)
I got my mojo working
(Got my mojo working)
Got my mojo working
(Got my mojo working)
Got my hoo... working
(Got my mojo working)
Got my hoo... working
(Got my mojo working)
Got my mojo working
But...
Well, I got my mojo working, baby...
Got my mojo working, baby...
But it just won't work on you
