I expected stickywhitesock to get #7, but I'll give a hint. It's a samurai flick by Akira Kurosawa with Toshiro Mifune in a classic role. This one wasn't made into a western, but its prequel was.
As for #5, its an Alfred Hitchcock film. And Man #2 is Cary Grant.
Hitchcock + Cary Grant = To Catch a Thief. Too many hints.
Is #7 Sanjiro? I can't remember if it or Yojimbo came first. On a side note, I've finally been watching Kurosawa movies. Saw Seven Samauri and got solidly hooked.
Yep, you got them. I gave a bunch of hints on #5 because all the other quotes related directly to the plot or theme in some or were pretty well known (or the character was e.g. Dread Pirate Steve). That one is just a personal favorite that I can't blame you if you missed.
