Audiobooks

So driving back and forth to NC, I have had the occasion to listen to more than a few audiobooks. I have worked my way all the way through the Lord of the Rings trilogy (over 52 hours long), as well as Zorro and more than a few others. I think I like getting through books like this. Well, as long as you have a good reader or cast, whatever the case my be. See, there was this unfortunate incident with a dramatized version of The Hobbit (a male dwarf voice should never be done by a woman trying to make her voice more masculine, dammit).

Well, I have been listening to an abridged version of World War Z. It's a lot of fun. It is the oral history of the survivors of the Zombie War. It's written by the same guy that did the Zombie Survival Guide. It is a more realistic take on a worldwide zombie outbreak. I love some of the bits in it to. They talk about how you have to be careful of abandoned cars, because, if someone reanimates in the car while buckled up, they won't have intelligence to unbuckle themselves and they get stuck in the car. I'm just getting to the part where they start to push back the zombies after having enacted the South Africa Plan to survive the initial onslaught. I don't know about the book, but the CDs are worth it if you are going on a long trip.

I know realize I am to tired to make much sense in my head, so I shudder to think how this post turned out. Oh well, time for bed... 'Night.
