Just to record it, the softball season ended rather poorly. We lost the playoff game and didn't get to play in the finals. I didn't play at all because we had an extra guy and I neglected to sub in halfway through the first game. I figured we would win and I could play during the whole second game. On the plus side, the next season starts in a couple weeks and I got a team t-shirt.
MY WEEKEND WAS FANTASTIC!
Friday, drove down to LA with Andrew. We didn't leave Berkeley until almost 7:30. Had a great time talking and listening to music on the way down. We ate dinner in the car, pita chips, dried fruit, water, and fresh plums and berries from his backyard. My first road trip with
Taurendur and I would definitely look forward to another. hmm, that reminds me, he still hasn't given me contact info for his groomsman. Gotta plan some debauchery before he gets married.
Saturday I met Nicole Elyse's Mom and 14 year-old brother Cody, saw her house, neighboorhood, dog Yeller (he loved me), and four cats. Her brother immediately left for the airport to go to Boston, so I didn't get much of an impression except that he's exactly how Nicole described him. Apparently he told his Mom later that this was one boyfriend "he didn't have to kill." I'm told that's a compliment.
Later that afternoon was Andrew's family's 4th of July weekend BBQ. Had a blast helping Andrew make Buffalo Burgers, chatting with his cousins and friends, and watching fireworks at a nearby community college. The fireworks were low and right above our head so we layed down on our backs to watch. For the first of several times over the last few days, I whispered to Nicole, "Xsplosions are coool."
Argh, gotta run or I'll be late for movie. Met Nicole's friends, saw Anna (woot!) and spent 17 hours at Disneyland. But I'll write about all that later. For now, "You'll believe a Man can Fly."
