I now have a myanmar stamp in my passport! I had to take a trip over there to renew my thai visa for a month. I don't suppose I've really been to Myanmar, but I did drink their national beer, so I suppose it counts. Bacically you pay some money, they pick you up in a bus, take you through immigration (in extreme comfort), take you on a boat to Myanmar on a boat, you stay at the resort for an hour or so, then you make your way back to thailand. Genius, pure genius. I suppose someone figured that there were so many foreigners making the trip that there must be some money in the process for anyone who can make it more comfortable.
In other news the freediving is going well, and I have rented a bicycle for a month. Now I have accomodation, transport and diversions. All I need to sort out is food. I think I will frequent Yangs, a cheap but nice thai resturant. If anyone wants to visit me here in Thailand then feel free, I'll put you up in my room.
After a couple of weeks of rain the weather finally got good, it's hot and sunny and the water temperature is a balmy 29-30 degrees C. Ahh, this is the life.
Oh and by the way, you're all invited to my birthday party, it's on September 5th. In thailand. On Koh Tao. Since it's a long way for you to come, I'll say it's free booze. You can all get drunk at my expense!
