In the morning I fly out once more to San Francisco. When I scheduled these trips I presumed that I would have my cake & eat it to; a chance to see two dear friends at once, complementing one another in a life ending & a life beginning in that chill & foggy bay. Sam(antha) aka Malista is dying. This news doesn't surprise me- more then all of us are perpetually doing so, Sam has been actively travelling down that definitive road for months now in her struggle with leukemia. Failed bone marrow transplants, chemo complications and the like are all obvious warning signs & I've been describing Sam-my-dying- ( Read more... )

On the stressful side, $200 in cash was misplaced for ~15 minutes, I lost an apartment job (change in management company), and rent at Uni-l0be was raised $50/month.

On the relaxing side, Kat's birthday party was divertingly ecumenically mainstream and I ended-up both relaxing & enjoying myself.

Leaked notes from Ann Coulter's editor cracked me up. Also, I want to cite dreams in footnotes.

In less happy news my phone's screen has completely failed. It joins the failure of the upper speaker, leaving me with a walkie-talky like speaker-phone only device. Despite the increase in chocolate rations, this is at least one-plus-ungood.

On the 26th, the Chron ran a story about how the Menil has hired an architect to guide their overall area renovation design. Considering they own some 30 acres this could have quite an impact on the Montrose, particularly with the rail-line almost certainly going in on Richmond- one of the borders of their holdings ( Read more... )
