So I gots a job. [Have had, actually, for a whole 1.8 weeks]
I get to setup, configure, test, and implement a visual inspection system for an automotive trim company. It's a pretty cool system, but it's alot of pretty repetitive work. Still, I'm already ~1/5 done with the initial programming of the system, though this is in the laboratory lighting, which means once I'm done, I get to move onto the workroom floor, and look at EVERYTHING again. Great part is, [and this is where Tim might get interested] I then get to integrate into the Plexus Workstation running the tool I'm inspecting parts from. So we get to work with Plexus' machine integration team to get their workstation to run telnet to my vision system. Or something else, if that won't work. That's a bit down the line yet, so we'll see how it turns out. Even further down the line, we get to start collecting data from the inspections, and analyze it for trends, and stuff.
Bit of a change, though, working in an industrial environment. The Suit+Tie dress code for one. Had to go out and buy a lot of new ties. See:
Also, Findlay [the town I'm working in] was recently hit by floods, so there's absolutely no housing available. Yay for a 35 minute commute from Bowling Green, where I've found a spacious 288 Sq. ft Studio Apartment. Just big enough, though, so it works. Tomorrow I'ma scout out the bars downtown [there's like, 10 of them in a stretch of 2 blocks]. So if anyone's in the general Toldeo-ish area (or will be), Feel free to gimme a ring. I've got a working cell again, same number as before.
In other news, my only working desktop parts were enough to assemble a mighty Celeron 2.0 Ghz with a GeForce FX 5700. Ugh. New parts ordered, not top-of-the-line, no, but sufficiently superior. In that vein, I'll *finally* be able to play Bioshock. Mmm..... bioshock.
While I wait though, Team Fortress 2 is some seriously awesome stuff. Need to find some people to play with though, 'cause these games are always better with friends. I smell LAN Party material.
[WOW] Also, Bane was totally the #1 raiding guild on Baelgun for like, a day, before Crisp beat us to the Vashj kill. We're still top Horde, and #2 overall. We may see her down this weekend [Got to Phase 3 last week]. They'll still be ahead, but we've got more momentum for now. Here's hoping to Kael in a couple weeks. [/WOW]
Finally, Captain Morgan's Tatoo makes a good sour, but nothing else. You mix it in ANYTHING that doesn't contain sweet+sour mix, and you get cough syrup or worse.
