Here is what the worst part is, in my opinion.
Minnesota, a state that's been deep blue for decades. A state so blue that we went for WALTER MONDALE against Ronald Reagan in 84 (and don't forget, we were the only STATE to do so; DC also went Mondale but they're not a state, yet). A state of nice people. A state where, in March we could not abide Trump in the caucuses, we couldn't abide CRUZ in the caucuses. We were the weird state that went for Marco Rubio.
We are so blue that I expected them to call it for Clinton at 8:01 like they always do. The idea that we were ever a swing state was laughable.
...WAS.
The worst part about this whole goddamn affair is that most of the map of MINNESOTA, IN 2016, is fucking RED. We just barely, just BARELY squeaked by into blue.
That is the worst part. Our state of NICE, smart, cool people, were taken in by this con artist. In massive numbers.
All those Trump shirts we saw at the mall were NOT an anomaly.
