I wound up having a really great time. I told myself with all the drama I've had with USDAA in the past, and with this being the worst of all, if I didn't have a good time at this trial, I would give up on USDAA altogether. With the new year, I finally feel back to myself. Ugh, holidays. Actually, I don't ever feel the holidays are truly over until after Valentine's Day, the ultimate Hallmark holiday. And.... today he was back to leaping with the plank under carpet set up. WTF? I fixed it by restraining him, throwing the ball, then letting him go for it. But how long will that last? I did two separate trials this weekend, so they get two separate posts. Friday I went to a local USDAA trial to keep plugging away at the Advanced/P2 standard legs the girls need. I've had some trouble coming up with what I want to say about the USDAA trial this past weekend. Long story short, I won't be traveling up to NH for this club's trials any more. The day that is!  Went to the USDAA Y Agility trial yesterday and since I only signed up for morning classes, was out of there by 1:15.  Brr!  It was cold!  But not as bad as I had anticipated, but still cold.  We did Gamblers and Standard, neither of which did I have a Q in yet with either dog.  Gamblers was first up.  Easiest advanced gamble on ( Read more... )

Saturday I ran just Spy in P2 snooker, jumpers, gambles and standard.  0 Q's and I ended up the day very cranky.  So different from Friday.  It didn't start all that bad, although I nearly missed the walk through, and, since we were second dog on the line, I nearly missed my run since I hadn't even set up my crates yet and had to RUN to my car to ( Read more... )

So we went on Friday to the trial.  In a word: FABULOUS!  Spy earned PD1 with her last standard leg.  She got a bonus title by Q'ing in gamblers too.  She wasn't the speediest she's ever been, but she was steady and focused.  She stopped briefly in gamblers coming off the A-frame.  This club's rubber contacts are shedding granules BAD.  I remember ( Read more... )
