Searching for the perfect (for us) puppy - we must be crazy!

We went to look at a puppy in a foster home tonight. Spencer is a one year old Doxie Chihuahua mix Very cute with those little short legs. We want a small dog to hang out with stonebender sometimes and sit on his tray. Unfortunately Spencer didn't cotton to stonebender at all - actually refused to look at him even when he was placed on his tray

In my experience, 90% of small dogs are assholes. Everyone says "he thinks he's a big dog." What I think is going on is that the entire world is bigger than him, and it scares the shit out him. What does a dog do when it's scared? It either runs and hides, or becomes an asshole. This usually works for him, because the bigger animals know Master will be unhappy if he hurts the little dog, and the humans don't properly train the little bastard out of it, because it's a lot of work, and they're afraid of being bitten.

If you're set on getting a small dog, try a pug. I've never met an pug that was an asshole.
