dbubley woke up Thursday morning with classic heart attack symptoms (clammy, sweaty, shortness of breath and chest pain). I called 911 at 5 am and off she went to the ER. After oxygen and nitro, she started to feel much better. They did lots of tests and the only thing we know is there is no heart damage and she has lots of edema. The chemical stress test was the last one they did and it was inconclusive. There is some fluid around her lungs and they started her on Lasix.
It was a very looooong Thursday. I had 2 hours of sleep and after she was doing okay, I left the ER and went to work. I was in zombie mode all day long. They finally decided to admit her after 15 hours in the ER. They did get her a regular hospital bed after a few hours, which is not great, but so, so, so much better than the gurney. We hope she will only need to be there a day or two.
It was/is scary, but I'm holding on to the "no heart damage" part of this for now.
