we have a wonderful luxurious penthouse apartment in the middle of garmisch! Right next to the banhof so anyone coming to visit us by train can come right to the house.
We went to Ikea in Munich and it was terrible. Rented a VW Touran so we'd have room for the kid bed, 2 kid dressers, kid table, kitchen table, spare bedframe, mattress and spring, bathroom hutches, and several hundred Euros worth of stuff. They have a free child care program; Jasmine loved it. We spent 1 1/2 hours shopping, putting up with grumpy Alex, and got to the end - total was about 853 euros - and they don't take M/C or Visa. And I couldn't pull cash out, the ATM wasn't working. So useless day off, but a nice drive in the Touran.
We'll have to rent again and go up Thursday night; need a bed for jasmine when we move in Friday.
argh. It's 5am. Got up at 0350 for a school conference call at 4 am. Almost done; then Jan 31 I go to NJ for my mid-residency. i had forgotten I need to give my speech while there ...eek. Without reading it. Oh gods, what a pain.
Ok... I'm hungry and tired; we'll review the paper and hopefully all will be well. Think I can get about an hour's more sleep ... good night!
