I saw it at midnight. It was awesome, except for the assholes who snuck their own liquor in and were completely wasted by the end of the film, despite sitting next to 12 and 13-year-olds. "Awww, they killed that nigga!" shouted while Cato was being torn apart by mutts was pretty freaking crass. -_-
Anyway, my thoughts on the actual movie!

Well, except maybe the last dislike ... based on the reactions of the mostly adult (like 30s and 40s) audience I saw it with, the violence they did show was plenty effective. Fortunately no one cheered for any of it, but a couple of times (Rue for sure, Clove's death, and when Cato snaps the other Career's neck after Katniss and Rue blow up the supplies, and a little bit at the opening bloodbath) there was a huge, audible gasp in the theater. Sure, it could have been a lot more visceral, but considering that they wanted the books' target audience to be able to actually see the movie, they did pretty well.
Oh! Did you feel like the opening parade was a lot less spectacular than it could have been? I felt like it was, you know, fine, but considering how grand it was supposed to be, and what a HUGE scene KatPee were supposed to make, it wasn't as epic as I wanted it to be. Plenty of the other visuals made up for it, though.
