My jumbled mash of Hunger Games feels

SPOILERS

I saw it at midnight. It was awesome, except for the assholes who snuck their own liquor in and were completely wasted by the end of the film, despite sitting next to 12 and 13-year-olds. "Awww, they killed that nigga!" shouted while Cato was being torn apart by mutts was pretty freaking crass. -_-

Anyway, my thoughts on the actual movie!

It's quite possible that to most people that was more than enough violence. For me, I tend to like my violence to run deep (idk, it's like, if you're gonna use it, make it as gutwrenching as possible?) and while the movie generally did very well there were a few moments I wished for just a smidge more brutality, as horrible as that is. Like when they killed the girl who made a campfire, I probably would have put in the begging that the Careers said she did. I thought the Cornucopia was extremely well done though, and the kid with a brick in the footage may have been the saddest of all except for Rue, obviously.

I feel it was still pretty spectacular, but I wish they would have focused some on the other tributes' outfits -- and how uneventful they were in comparison to Katniss and Peeta. (They really do have the worst names for portmanteaus. Everlark for the win!) However, I really liked how almost all of the tributes looked nervous, or confused, in their outfits.

Man. I still can't get over how brutal the Reaping was. I was physically shaking. Seeing as I got almost all my packing done for Europe today, I might go see the movie again tomorrow...
