Le sigh.

Dang it, my problems with alcohol intolerance continue. :( Although last night was, I guess, my best experience with vodka. I had about 2.5 shots of vanilla vodka in creme soda, and it was tasty and delicious and I couldn't even tell I was drinking anything alcoholic. (Well, until I started to get very warm, and awfully goofy.) I had my two drinks about 2-3 hours after a good-size meal and snacked on chips between drinks. I felt a little nauseous at one point but drank some water and had mints and was fine. At 3 in the morning after Ben and I were trying to get some sleep I had some diarrhea and stomach cramping, 4 or 5 hours after my last drink. I drank a ton of water and took some anti-diarrheals and woke up at 4 and 5 feeling not terribly well, but I didn't have any more diarrhea. When I woke up at 5:45 to ride up to Portland with Ben's dad on his way to work, I had a weird feeling right at my ribcage, but I slept through it and was fine afterward.

Even though it was disappointing that I got a stomachache from an amount of alcohol that only made me tipsy, I guess it was good that a) I had 2.5 shots and b) ended up not throwing up, and only having one actual stomach attack. But I still woke up several times feeling poorly. I don't know, maybe the glass of milk I drank before going to bed cushioned my stomach enough that I didn't get the full effect of the stomach issues. After all, there have been times in the past where I've had one drink (say, one rum & Coke, or one White Russian) and gotten diarrhea all night long even after taking medicine. But maybe if I try and build up a little tolerance my stomach will strengthen to the point that having two drinks isn't going to keep me up with a stomachache and possible vomiting.

Le sigh... I wish I could just have two or three drinks, enough to get enjoyably tipsy, without getting violently ill from them. I don't want to drink except in moderation... but my body doesn't even like doing that. :(
