Just got back from twelve and a half hours of X-Filey goodness with my Leah. XD
Oh, man, it was fun. We crashed the York lounge and moved in with all of my tapes (which were mostly Mary's old tapes) and set about watching all sorts of things. We watched, in roughly this order:
- Pilot
- Anasazi
- The Blessing Way
- Paperclip
- Hollywood AD
- How the Ghosts Stole Christmas
- Chinga
- Deep Throat (or part of it, anyway)
- Clyde Bruckman's Final Repose
- Darkness Falls
- Folie a Deux (but there was a chunk missing in the middle)
- Irresistible
- Small Potatoes
We also screwed around for an hour or two, watching snippets of things here and there -- David Duchovny on Jay Leno, Mulder and Scully dancing to "Blue Suede Shoes" at the end of Post-Modern Prometheus, the end of Existence, the end of Amor Fati, the Doggett/Scully hug in Alone, some bits from Arcadia, and some other random things. We were also searching for a scary episode, but it was really hard to find them because we had no idea as to what was actually on the tapes, lol, and we wanted to be really scared.
I LOVED the Anasazi mytharc -- shockingly, I'd never seen it all the way through, had only seen bits and pieces. SO ANGSTY! God, I forgot how angsty this show can be. It was glorious. And so, so creepy. The Well-Manicured Man! Squee! Smallpox vaccinations! Eeep! Lauren joined us for quite a lot of the marathon, and it was good times, because she'd only seen a few episodes and we were able to introduce her to the glory that was classic XF. We also bitched a lot about its horrible, terrible ending, which is always fun to rant about, roflmao. I will never stop ranting about that, methinks, heh. And though I do love Doggett dearly, and in Seasons 8 and 9 shipping him and Scully kept me sane, Mulder and Scully will always be my OTP to end all OTPs, because they were my first and their relationship was seven years in the making. Even though Chris Carter saw fit to stab it in the heart with a rusty spork, I will always love it, because it was a beautiful thing. *wub* Leah and I had a fabulous time, squeeing and fangirling and laughing and crying and holding hands during scary parts and glomping each other at shippy or angsty scenes. MAN such good times. <3
So anywho, even though my head aches from watching TV (often with awful tracking issues) for the past half a day, it was still glorious, and we are awesome, and I love my new X-Files icon because AWWWWWWWWWWWWW. It was fun to draw the little laces on the baseball, roflmao. Oh man. I am SUCH a nerd. And I wouldn't trade it for anything.
