Whew!!!
It has been a rough couple of days. I figured out today that the latest ramp up on my pain scale has been the need to exchange more legal paper with the insurance company.
It's very scary. It seems to take more and more pain meds each time I hit a bad flare. And even then, I seem to get relief for maybe an hour and then away it goes again. Not good. I had been so looking forward to dinner last night with D&C. FWS had to cancel because I was a little foetal moaning ball in the hammock. Not quite the entertaining hostess that people expect when they're invited for dinner. The other side of that is that, over time, people are getting a look at the real me - not the polite smiling hostess that I sometimes portray. I guess I'm hoping that when people do know how bad I get, that I can start to rely on them for support and help in my downtimes. We'll see.
Today I pushed to finish the quilt for our youngest grandson's birthday which is tomorrow. And it did get finished. Hallelujah! it's very simple - a nine-patch with fussy cut space ships between the nine-patches. Not an art fabuloso, but it's not intended to be. All I have to do now, is get it wrapped up and get the card signed and enveloped. Tomorrow morning.
We didn't get to go fishing either. Darn! I had this neat, peaceful picture in my head of fishing at sunset. However, I think we got our wires crossed again. It does get funny, although probably frustrating at the time. I thought we were going after supper, our fishing guru had everything ready and hour and a half before that and we missed. Next time we'll clarify the times and expectations beforehand.
I had a great visit with one of my dearest friends today. Another gift of the cosmos. You don't expect in-laws, especially when you're wife #2, to love you wholeheartedly. But I seem to have that particular gift and it's very appreciated - particularly on days when I'm scared of what the future holds for us. I've had a few of those days lately.
I also have a date for next weekend. Playing with a new friend making a squirrel costume. Saturday is the day - afternoon okay Phnee? I probably can't plan to spend a whole day given my lack of resources lately.
Time to go pick up my crochet hook. I got a free watch this week (free with a magazine subscription) and it's worth every cent that I spent. The second time I tried to put it on, the buckle broke. So I've decided to crochet a new one out of pearl cotton - primaries all mushed together. So, back to it.
