Last Friday I found an iomega desktop hard drive at a nice price ($90 for 320GB), so I succumbed and ordered it and OS X 10.5 Leopard (to get state gov't employee pricing). They arrived last week, and Friday night I did the Leopard install.  GT collective wishod had advised waiting a couple weeks to a month to let the initial bugs get worked out, ( Read more... )

As part of being a PE, I have to put in a certain number of continuing education hours every two years (30, IIRC).  So I'm in Springfield for the annual Illinois Association of Flood and Stormwater Mangers conference.  The IAFSM conference is at the Hilton downtown, but my co-worker, H, got the very last room at the conference rate, and I wasn't ( Read more... )

Ok, I will say that we gave into temptation and bought a dock/stereo thingy for the iPods. 

I've declared the kitchen de-moused, and most of the pots, pans, etc. are put back away.  And there was much rejoicing (on my part).

Did the books for Val Day last Friday.  Last year we sold 11 belts, 6 wide, 5 narrow.   I had, you may or may not recall, been guessing we'd sell about a dozen belts, total this year, and the Gods of Commerce laughed ( Read more... )
