don't know if I got you correct but my post was about being a fan of a popular band and being judged for that, but negative. So the "real" Nightwish fans who know them from the beginning say fans who discovered them this year or whatever aren't real fans because they now just listen to them because Nightwish are popular now. The hardcore fans want Nightwish for their own... the best is, no merchandising or anything, small location for concerts and such... don't make them known by the "mainstream". And this is what I hate. I don't listen to them because they are mainstream but because of the reasons I mentioned in my posts, but often this isn't recognised and when you say to "old" fans "I know nightwish since Nemo" they laugh at you and don't call you a real fan.

Don't know just had the feeling your comment went in another direction...well the other way round actually ;)
But that I hate too... I don't want to listen to a band just because they are mainstream. If they are mainstream and I like them, it's fine, I will listen, but if I don't like their music or anything I won't listen no matter what the world says.

Actually interesting.. their are two kinds of fans. The ones who want to make the people listen to their favourite band, because they are mainstream and you would be really uncool to not listen and the others who think they are cool because his or her favourite band aren't mainstream, so they are something special.
