Square eyes

Crikey it's humid today, meh.

Things are going well, just merrily bobbing along really. This week I finished reading Prey by Micahel Crighton, it's definitely worth a read if you like thrillers, I enjoyed it. It was also payday this week, which was nice. I have to say I think I've lucked out with my current job, I've been there 8 months so far and it's been better than I could've hoped. :-)

I got a 3 for 2 offer card thing for Blockbuster the other day (it even counts for the brand spanking new releases), so Britt and I made use of it after work on Friday and rented Miss Potter (Britt's pick), Babel (our joint choice) and Big Nothing (my pick). We watched Miss Potter on Friday night and it was pleasant film but nothing amazing. On Saturday Britt went on a shopping spree in Kingston and I came along for the fun times, of course a relatively mild day became a scorcher by mid afternnon and turned the Bentall Centre into a giant greenhouse... summer's here, oh joy! On Saturday evening we watched Babel, which we'd heard rave reviews of and so we were expecting something special... as it turned out by the end we were both glad it was over. It wasn't a bad film and it had some good ideas but it dragged on and didn't captivate us at all, very disappointing indeed. Tonight we'll be watching Big Nothing, which I'm looking forward to, not only because the other two films we rented this weekend haven't lived up to expectations, but that in my opinion everything that Simon Pegg touches turns to gold... or should that be "fried gold"? Ahaha!
