"There should be a tow truck to pick you up arriving in about five minutes," Jared says finally. They've discussed food, movies, exes (Jensen might have been unreasonably excited to have it confirmed that, yes, both he and Jared are gay, which--stupid! Jared is his OnStar operator, not his blind date), favorite holidays, and sports. It's actually been--fun. Which, if you'd asked him yesterday, would not have been a word that came to mind to describe getting in a car crash.

"Well, thanks for staying on with me," says Jensen, and then wants to kick himself, because it's Jared's job.

Jared doesn't point that out, though. He just says, "Thanks for putting up with my probing questions and crazy ramblings."

Jensen laughs. "No, really, man, it's been--not at all stressful, given I drove into a tree." He swallows and steals his courage. What's he got to lose, anyway? "Want to let me buy you a coffee to thank you?"

There's a long pause, and Jensen is kind of scared, but mostly just glad he actually out it out there. "You know Goldman's in Long Beach?"

"Yeah," says Jensen.

"How about tomorrow night, when you're over your concussion."

Jensen grins as he sees the lights of the tow truck approaching. "How about seven?"

"Yeah," says Jared. "Sounds perfect."

Edited for the third time, I believe I finally have this comment spell checked and in the right place :) Anyway...

Oh, that was wonderful!! You do their dialogue so well (like you've never heard THAT before, duh) the whole thing just played out in my head perfectly. I would not object, at all, to more from the OnStar!verse in the future if you are ever so inclined :) I would love to read their reactions to seeing each other for the first time!

This was just so freaking fabulous. Amazing the amount of story you get out in so few words. I would love to see more of this story.
