"What do you get for a first anniversary?" Jensen asks.

Jared fiddles around with his phone. "According to Wikipedia, paper, cotton, or clocks."

Jensen makes a face. "I don't think Danneel needs any of those things. Paper, really?"

"Maybe you could do origami," Jared suggests. "Maybe you could make an origami clock!"

Jensen groans. "I'm just going to buy her jewelry. That's never wrong, right? Jewelry is always the answer."

Jared smiles. "Dude, it's Danneel. She loves you. She will love whatever you get her."

"Yeah, yeah," says Jensen, rubbing his face. "But it's our first anniversary. I don't want to screw it up."

"You'll be fine."

Jensen is surprised to get home and find the table set. They'd made reservations at a restaurant, mostly because he was pretty sure that was how anniversaries were supposed to work.

"Hey?" he calls, hesitantly.

"Hey," says Danneel, coming over and leaning up for a kiss. "I canceled our reservations and ordered takeout."

Jensen laughs. "Yeah?"

"Yeah. I had a really long day and I kind of just want to have a nice meal at home and cuddle. I hope that's okay with you."

Jensen grins, pulling her in for a much longer kiss. "You know, that sounds fantastic, actually. Am I allowed to change into my pajamas?"

Danneel laughs. "Allowed and encouraged," she agrees. "We don't even have to sit at the table."

"So, sitting on the sofa in our pajamas, eating takeout directly from the carton, watching a bad movie?"

"You read my mind."

Jensen kisses her again. "I love you. Happy anniversary."

Danneel smiles. "Yeah, I love you too."

So cute! I love how it ended up being casual instead of being formal - this story reminds me of the other one you wrote in the AUverse about Jensen preparing a valentine's dinner for Danneel and she works in a jewelry shop. :)

Merry Christmas and thanks! :)

Sweet. A comfy, low-key night in sounds like a lovely first anniversary celebration.
