"Sit still," Jared says, firmly. "Don't be an idiot," he adds, as an afterthought.

"It's nothing," Jensen protests.

"Now it's nothing," says Jared. "With proper treatment, it will be nothing. Without, any wound can grow worse. We have time enough for this."

Jensen huffs, but doesn't protest again, giving himself over to Jared's ministrations. He doesn't think that left on its own, the cut will grow much worse. It's more of a nick, really.

But Jared is insistent, and he has no heart to argue the point. The Elf is clearly concerned, and if it will make him feel better, Jensen is willing to put up with his treatment.

"You are very fragile," Jared murmurs.

"I'm not," Jensen says. "Not as other Men are."

"Too fragile," Jared corrects himself. "Much more than I'd like."

Jensen smiles at that. "I'm not going anywhere, Jared."

"You are going on a dangerous quest into almost certain destruction," Jared points out. "But you're going in good health."

Jensen laughs. "I am at that." He squeezes Jared's arm. "Thank you."

"Just see you're careful," Jared says, but he's obviously pleased. "I don't want to do that again."

"Of course."

I admire the alliteration on, "Without, any wound can grow worse." Makes the casual dialogue suit book-canon.
