"I think a moose hit me," Jensen says, to the blurry person who appears over him. He doesn't think he has a concussion. Just a hit. From a moose.
"Shit, I'm sorry!" says the blur. It's starting to rearrange itself into a person. Slowly. "My dog, she got away from me, she can be--enthusiastic."
"Jesus, that was a dog?" Jensen asks.
"She's part dingo," the guy says. He holds a hand up in front of Jensen's face. "How many fingers?"
"Five total, I hope," says Jensen. "But you're holding up three."
"You can count and be sarcastic. That means you're all right, right?"
"I'm pretty sure that's the medical definition, yeah." He blinks a few more times and his eyes finally focus completely. The blurry guy is hot. "Uh, thanks."
"For what?" the guy asks, sounding confused. Jensen supposes that makes sense.
"Checking on me, I guess. But I guess it's also your fault I went down, so maybe it evens out."
"This was pretty much the least I could do, yeah," he says. He offers Jensen a hand up. "I'm Jared, by the way. I'm sorry. Again. About Sadie."
"It's okay," says Jensen, standing. Jared is taller than him. Awesome. "It could have been worse. She could have actually been a moose." He smiles, because Jared? Totally checking him out. "You know, you could buy me a coffee. To apologize."
Jared's small smile upgrades to a megawatt grin. "An apology coffee, huh?"
"Yeah," says Jensen. "And if it goes well, you can buy me a second first-date coffee."
Adorable as always. But I miss my moose. :( (Am staying in a hotel tonight with my mom, it's a thing. But no dogs, so no dog cuddled up in bed with me.)
