I talked to Billy last night, he got out to Charlotte, NC. He's not going back. He says now the whole country can see what I dealt with everyday in the NOPD. "It's America's problem now. [New Orleans] created the problem, but now they're in the hands of the Marines." So, yeah... the Marines will be going door to door, kicking in every door in New Orleans and St. Bernard Parish. If your not dead, you will be rescued or killed. If you are dead, a bag awaits you tagged with where you were found. There will be no locked doors in New Orleans when they are finished. They will hand the city back to the Army, who will then let us back in. This is as close to the truth as I will know. I would hope it could be different, but with the magnitude of the crime and distruction, I can see why this will happen. The hopelessness, that feeling of violation after violation has numbed me to a great degree.

My sister will be here in Georgia tomorrow evening. Turn up the tension a bit, but also a new distraction. I continue to be at a total loss.
