I...really, really wish I could say this is the first time a friend of mine has wound up the subject of a folktale or an urban legend. Goddamnit. Maybe if I'd been hadn't spent all of last year so crippled up I could hardly move, I'd have been able to do something...goddamnit.
I've been nosing around at what happened since I got back- make up classes and exams for all the material I missed after the whole business with the horse. Apparently that whole "Being mauled by an animal" thing only applies to one set of grades a year. Mostly what I've been coming up with are, well, Will Stories. I've collected a few of 'em here.
The most common Will story is the "Phantom Script Doctor." Folks in composition classes who have to write dialogue pieces, drama clubs and acting classes- word is if you leave the script you'll be working on overnight in the Video Hole late returns box, it'll be there the next morning covered in suggestions and directorial notes and if you follow them, you're guaranteed a good review or a decent grade, depending on what you're aimin' for.
Some folks also say he shows up when you watch TV in Astor- he'll just randomly take the place of one of the characters on screen, blending into whatever part he's taken.
Then of course there's the story about the monitors in the video hole, where they claim he'll show up and occasionally try to speak on his own before everything goes back to normal- it's distinctly different from his TV appearances- he seems aware there, and not part of whatever movie trailers are airing.
There's one video circulating that seems to be Will having a one-sided conversation with a person who can't be heard or seen. It's been suggested- largely by folks who've watched a lot of Doctor Who, that if someone could just figure out what the other person is sayin', we could figure out what happened to him.
If anyone else has stories, or more news about what happened? I'd appreciate a hookup along that front. I'm following somethin' of a cold trail here.
