I went on a movie downloading binge again recently. I got everything that I've wanted to see that's been out in theaters lately. Brief reviews of each follow.

The Incredible Hulk
LB Like. Not bad at all. Going in, I thought the odds favored it being just as horrible as the 2003 disaster. It wasn't. Even for people like me who don't have a background as a reader of comic books, it still was throughly enjoyable. Plenty of good acting (and with a backstory as tragic as The Hulk's, it matters) and the effects were sane (no miles-long flying leaps in this version!) and did the job admirably.

The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian
Everything I expected it to be. It had a few teen-flirty moments that I felt irritated by (damn Hollywood's hard-on for love stories where they don't belong!) but other than that, it was solid and enjoyable. Makes me want to re-read the books again so I can compare them side-to-side properly.

Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull
I've heard a lot of bitching and complaining about this movie, and while it's not the best in the saga, it's certainly not as bad as most people make it out to be. I mean... come on. Compared to a magic box which contains magic tablets that hold the power of god, and a man walking around without a heart in his chest, I'm willing to let an awful lot slide. All told, it was pretty good, and held up to my own personal expectations.

Futurama: The Beast with a Billion Backs
Another lively and hilarious romp with the Planet Express crew. Funny in unexpected parts, and even sweet at times, this movie was as solid as it's predecessor in my opinion. Some didn't like that one, and they probably won't like this one either. I loved it, however.
