GPS And Toner Black-Lung

I also haven't mentioned the new "toy" I bought myself... not so much a toy as it is a prosthetic replacement for my shitty sense of direction. Much as a calculator is for my lack of math skills. At the suggestion of prostudent42, I ended up with a Magellan Maestro 4000. And so far, I've been quite happy with it. It's not without it's quirks, but it hasn't frozen, crashed, hung, or had any gaping flaws in it's internal maps. One caveat, though... like all color LCDs that I've seen, it's impossible to see a goddamn thing on it in bright ambient light. Completely washes out. But, it still yells at you to make turns etc, and that's what's important.

I saw this a few days back on slashdot. Apparently, that smell of toner is bad for you. Figures. Just like new car smell, and gasoline (which I personally happen to find a pleasant odor).

health, spent money, tech, links, new toy
