More Random Bits
Some random bits I didn't put in that last long-ass post of mine...
I was throwing out the garbage a few nights back at work, and a bag of crap from our lost-and-found was among it. I was a little "careless", and it "accidentally" blew open. I got a rather nice pair of sunglasses, and a quite nice bluetooth headset out of it before the rest ended up in the trash compactor. It's a shame we had to throw away all those hats and gloves, instead of giving them to the Salvation Army or something. They could have given them to poor people or whatnot. A lot better use than ending up in a landfill because of our assets protection policy. Oh well.
Played with the new BT headset. It's pretty nice, actually. The only problem now is finding a charger to use with it. Actually, it won't be that hard. It turns out it takes that wonky Motorola cell phone plug. So I just have to grab one of those when I next go to a dollar store, and I'm all set.
My new music torrents are coming in pretty nicely. I'm almost done with them, only a few stragglers left, and some of those have been at 0% the entire time... and I'll probably end up giving up on them.
Got the car back from the mechanic a few days ago. $221 to replace both brake lines. Could have been worse. I also needed to put a new screw in to hold up the plastic splash guard. I must have knocked it partly off/out one of the times I ran over a pothole, or perhaps a chunk of ice. Took care of that with a little drilling and some zip ties. Those things are indispensable. Also had the tires rotated... was going to do it with the old man's help, but the biting cold numbed both our hands by the time we had the first wheel off, so we both said "fuck this", put it back on and took it up the road. Was only $11, too... so it was definitely not worth getting frostbite to save such a small chunk of change.
I've got a lot to catch up with tomorrow (and Monday morning, too). I've got to restart the ebay shitheap, and deal with some random odds and ends I ignored when I last had a day off (it must be nice to have a steady, reliable schedule.... *sigh*). I also need to start tagging the new MP3s... I've got easily another 80GB or so, but there's a fair share of duplicates.
