Story sale, Young Frankenstein (the stage play), and one of the worst films ever

Apr 03, 2010 23:52

Space & Time magazine has bought my short-short "Hark at the Wind." Way back in issue 87 in 2002 they published a story I co-wrote with Carol Weekes, "The Black One."

Tomorrow Carolyn and I and our daughter are going to catch a matinee of "Young Frankenstein," the stage play. Should be a blast. It's been a great long weekend here. Weather is very mild. Spring has sprung.

Tonight we watched a film I grabbed from the local library -- The Haunting of Molly Hartley. What a waste of celluloid. This thing was so abysmal, I don't know where to start. It was 80 minutes long, and felt twice that length. There was no damn haunting, either. Hello!? You've got the damn word 'haunting' in your title. Terrible writing. Terrible acting. Terrible direction. Terrible score. Ugh! How does crap like this get green-lit, let along actually made? Do not waste your time.
